A MIRACLE OF NUMBERS

srjohnBeing the very first alumna of NDA, Jamalpur, I have to comment with astonishment on the steady growth of the student body. Years ago we struggled to enroll enough students in the high school section. I remember the discouragement of the pioneer Sisters when, year after year, we would have classes of only three, four, five, or up to a maximum of ten, appearing for their Board Exams – even up till the late 70’s. My batch had only three girls. “When will more students come?” the Sisters used to ask.   Today, I am happy to say, we are bursting at the seams and can easily accommodate one more section for each class if we had the land or the space – such is the demand for our education. For this, I am truly grateful to the Lord.

NOTRE DAME ACADEMY is much more than a school and not less than a temple, a true place for one to build his over-all development. It's this place where I learned to turn a ray of an idea into the spectrum of opportunities. It was here where I learned the true meaning of a leader, i.e.,"A Leader Is One Who Knows The Way, Goes The Way and Shows The Way." It was here where I learned about my Religion. It was here where I discovered myself. It was this school which gave me friends, teachers, sisters and everything, and the most important thing AN IDENTITY. My Notre Dame Family will forever remain in my heart because though I gave MEASURABLY, It has given me IMMEASURABLY.... and I can still experience it. (Thanks for the beautiful sentiments, Abhijit!)
